LATCHFORD Albion entertain rivals Bank Quay Bulls in the opener at the new Victoria Park Stadium on Saturday, kick off 2.15pm.
While only a friendly coach Lee Smith is anticipating a tough encounter.
He said: “When playing any sort of derby the word friendly is thrown out of the window, however I intend to use the game as a mark of how we have progressed in the close season.
"The lads have shown tremendous commitment with many undertaking their own personal training schedules alongside the squad nights so I am hoping this will transfer into the pitch ahead of an important season for us.”
n The game is a double header with Warrington Reserves v Wigan Reserves preceding it at noon.
All supporters are welcome with food and refreshments available and the club are hoping for a good turn out from players old and new to help celebrate this historic occasion.
