TONY Smith believes a happy Chris Sandow will be dangerous for the rest of Super League.

The Australian half back produced two pieces of magic to first score and then set up a second try as the Wolves edged champions Leeds at Headingley on Thursday night.

And fellow Aussie Smith says he is a different man from last season when he arrived 'shattered' after criticism Down Under.

"Our little half back (Sandow) was absolutely brilliant," he said.

"It wasn't fair to judge him last year. He came to us shattered actually.

"He is now stronger and most of all happy.

"I am really pleased for him. He has got more to show as well."

Warrington's win was based on rock solid defence, with the Wolves forced to defend 60 more play the balls, the equivalent of 10 extra sets, than the defending Super League champions.

He said: "Outstanding defence. We got tested, they threw some at us.

"There will be some weary and tired boys but this was well deserved in terms of effort."

And he said keeping hold of the ball in possession and improving the penalty count, which went 10-5 against the Wire, will be top of the list of improvements ahead of next Sunday's home game with Hull KR.
