WARRINGTON Wolves' final pre-season friendly against Barrow at Craven Park on Friday night is in doubt.
A pitch inspection will take place tomorrow, Thursday.
Staff at the Championship One club say their players have stayed off the pitch since Sunday's 22-0 home loss to Oldham on a muddy surface.
The pitch was heavily waterlogged when Wolves' head of rugby operations, Karl Fitzpatrick, visited the stadium yesterday.
Wolves say player welfare is key ahead of the new season, with the opening Super League clash with treble winners Leeds Rhinos to follow at Headingley next Thursday.
The inspection will be carried out by a third party.
The game is planned as a Testimonial benefit event for Liam Harrison, the older brother of Wolves forward Ben.
