ORFORD were too strong for rock bottom Moorfield with 10 men in their first Premier Division outing for three weeks.

Paul Yates was given his marching orders within 15 minutes but they can rely on in-form striker and man-of-the-match Liam Mcloughlin, who scored twice - the second after dancing his way past five defenders to lash the ball home.

John Farrell was also on the score sheet as Orford's 3-1 success took them to ninth with as many as five games to make up on teams above them.

In Warrington and District League Division One, Grange Sport took over top spot after a hard-earned 4-2 win at Runcorn Albion.

For the second week in a row they fell behind in the first five minutes, and the defence had to work overtime to keep a lively attack from increasing the lead.

They were like a different team in the second half and equalised when Scott Robinson made amends for a penalty miss when he headed in from a free kick.

Although Runcorn again took the lead, three goals for Grange in the last 20 minutes from Aaron Lilford and two more from goal machine Robinson broke a spirited Runcorn outfit.

Winwick fell 2-1 at Railway Rangers in Division Two with a depleted team.

A bare 11 were 1-0 down at half time when James Cookson had to leave the field with Injury.

Winwick equalised through Adam Llewellyn and only lost to a 25-yard strike late on.

Burtonwood Reserves climbed three places in Division Four with a 3-1 defeat of Eagle JFC.

Trailing to an early second-half strike, Burtonwood battled back through Sean Rotherham assisted by Alex Roberts.

Straight from the kick off Roberts hit the bottom right corner of the net with a superb strike.

Eagle pressured but the defence stood strong with some crucial saves from goalkeeper Lee Dixon.

Burtonwood went on the counter attack with a neatly-placed through-ball which fell to Rotherham who found the net again for the clincher.

Grange Reserves were twice pegged back by Vulcan Reserves after goals by Craig Burton and Kevin Ferrigan.
