WARRINGTON Rowing Club crews enjoyed success at Chester's long-distance sculls on the River Dee at the weekend.

Ella Stanhope and Maddie McCormick were victorious in the women’s junior 15 double, setting a faster time than their rivals over a 5,000m course.

Their success was followed up by a women’s quad of Charlotte Brennan, Gill Laidlaw, Carole Green and Charlotte Moll who finished first in a magnificent time of 20.02.01 in the WIM3 quad event, while Rowan Lidbury won the women’s masters’ single event.

Competing in the junior 15 division, and finishing a close second, were the quad of Angus Stewart, Sam Dickenson, Josh Critchley and Michael Lee coxed by Megan Dunbavand.

Meanwhile the women’s junior 15 quad of Feona Donnelly-Worthington, Ella Stanhope, Lauren Hughes and Beth Potts, with cox Hattie Wallis, finished fifth in their boat class and the boys' junior 15 double of Ollie McFerran and Max Bury came in ninth.

The men’s masters C/D quad of John Goode, Jonathan Budd, Paul Rigby and Matt Holmes finished the event 38th out of 95th overall, while the women’s masters quad of Donna Slater, Jen Hind, Celia Critchley and Sian Henrys raced over the line in a time of 21.36.4.
