Croft 2 Knowsley South 1

CROFT lead the way in the Warrington and District Football League Premier Division courtesy of a third straight win.

On the back of a 2-1 success at Halton Borough in midweek, Croft opened the scoring early with a neat finish from Robert Hunt.

Knowsley got back into the game and their equaliser came courtesy of an own goal but Sam Kirby netted the winner with 20 minutes to go.

Orford FC 5 Burtonwood Albion 2

LIAM McLoughlin was the headline act as Orford bagged their second win of the new campaign.

He netted four goals in the opening 20 minutes, his jubilation only to be soured by suffering a broken nose.

Liam Moran netted a 35-yard curler into the top corner to settle the game.

Knowsley South Res 0 Grange Sports 2

GRANGE Sports Club moved up to sixth spot in Division One courtesy of their second win of the season.

Two second-half goals from Joe Green settled Saturday’s outcome at Knowsley South Reserves.

Eagle JFC 3 Vulcan Res 2

EAGLE held off a Vulcan side that kept snapping at their heels.

After an even start with good football being played in this Division Four encounter, Eagle took a 2-0 lead through Liam Haggerty’s first goal for the club plus a header from Will Ellis.

Fifteen minutes into the second half the lead was cut to one goal but a 25-yard finish from Bradley Stokes made it 3-1.

Vulcan scored again and Eagle player-manager Chris Rodger entered the fray to steady the ship.

Burtonwood Albion Res 1 Grange Sports Res 3

GRANGE Sports Reserves’ massive improvement in fortunes from last season continues.

They went top of Division Four thanks to Saturday’s success.

Goals from Phil Mannion, Kev Ferrigan and Dave Fleming made it three wins on the trot for the new management team of Phil Mannion and Jason Hayes, just one victory less than they achieved through the entire 2014-15 season.

Bruche 6 Cronton Villa Res 2

RICHARD Keates and Ryan Bradbury both struck twice for Bruche in their second successive win in Division Five.

Michael Dalton and Paul Angell also got in on the act for a Bruche side that lost their season opener 7-1 at home to The Village Reserves.
