RYLANDS recorded their 10th victory of the season on Saturday, at Old Parkonians, but the outcome could have been very different.

Parkonians won the toss and decided to bat.

Opening bowlers Adam Peters ,5 for 39, and Rob Wright, 4 for 63, bowled with discipline and had Parkonians 57 for 6 at one stage.

The change in bowling brought about a change for the home side however who attacked the change bowlers and were finally bowled out for 202 when Wright returned to account for the last two wickets.

With 203 the target, the Rylands’ opening pair of Buck and Platt attacked from the outset, Buck falling first with the score on 57.

This brought Alan Brady to the crease and the home side made a crucial error in dropping the in-form batsman with only six runs to his name.

He went on to score 59 and together with Platt, who top scored with 76, they set Rylands up for victory with a destructive cameo from Graeme Rowlands ensuring the away side left the Wirral with the 25 points that keep them second in Division Two.
