A SPIRITED performance from Crosfields Alliance had top of the table and unbeaten Pilkingtons A worried, but ultimately their organisation and experience showed as it finished 18-46.

Crosfields took an early lead when Nathan Taylor pounced on a loose pass to race in for a converted try.

The home side worked hard and crossed the line on two more occasions, but were denied the scores.

Too much defence told for Crosfields, as the visitors crossed for two tries and a half time lead of 8-6.

Pilks’ confidence grew and they were quickly out of the blocks, bagging two more tries, one of which was converted, for an 18-6 lead.

Crosfields' persistence paid off when a quick tap penalty caught out the visitors’ defence and Nathan Hamilton drove the ball over for a try. Taylor converted.

Pilks added three more converted tries, before Shaun Thomas capped a good display, when he burst through the defence for a try.
