SALFORD Red Devils welcome Warrington Wolves to the AJ Bell after a weekend’s rest following their Challenge Cup exit to Leigh Centurions earlier in the season.

Wolves, who will face Leigh in the quarter finals after going to Championship side Dewsbury Rams and winning last Friday, last faced Iestyn Harris’ side on the first day of the Super League season.

Tony Smith’s side opened their campaign that day with a 22-8 victory, and will be hoping to emulate the club’s success last time they beat Salford on the season’s opening day.

That was winning a league and cup double in the 1953-54 season.

Along with defeat to Leigh, Salford have lost five times in their last six games with Huddersfield Giants, Hull FC, Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos all getting the better of them.

They failed to register a point last time out in a 0-19 home loss to Huddersfield.

Salford currently sit second bottom in Super League and on course for a middle-eight fight out at the end of the season. However, only three points separate them from fifth-placed Wolves.

The hosts will be boosted by the news former Warrington Wolves man Adrian Morley is available after entering an early guilty plea and admitting a Grade A head butt on Giants’ Kruise Leeming.
