SAM Tomkins confirmed he spoke to Warrington Wolves about a transfer to The Halliwell Jones Stadium before deciding to re-join Wigan Warriors next season.
Speaking to reporters via Skype after Wolves’ 30-20 loss to Wigan last night Tomkins, a Warrington supporter as a boy, said he ‘spoke to a successful club in Warrington’.
The 26-year-old, who will leave NRL outfit New Zealand Warriors at the end of the season, admitted it was a choice between returning to hometown club Wigan and signing for Tony Smith’s Wolves.
Wigan announced the news that Tomkins will return on a four-year contract for a transfer fee of more than £200,000 at half time last night at the DW Stadium.
