LYMM seconds look set for promotion despite losing 3-1 at Deeside Ramblers.

Captain Katy Arber said: “We just didn’t seem to want it quite as much as them.

“However although we have not ended the season quite how we may have wanted to, we mustn’t take away what we have achieved this season.

“Last year we finished up mid-table, this season we are runners up and all being well in the league we should secure ourselves promotion.”

Lymm were hoping to get some goals past the home team to narrow their goal difference with Neston, however Deeside had other ideas.

Despite some great saves from Lymm keeper Jo Skelton, the half time score was 1-0 to Deeside.

Deeside’s pressure continued into the second half and despite a couple of close encounters in the D Lymm were mainly on the back foot.

However a strike across the goal from just inside the D from midfielder Sally Bircham did find its way into the goal at last putting the away side on the score sheet and keeping the away team in with a chance making the score 1-1.

Deeside were not going to settle for a draw though and kept battling eventually putting two further goals past Lymm.
