Watson to represent north of England
BRIDGEWATER High pupil Ben Watson has been selected to play for the north of England under 16s.
Watson, a product of Warrington Rugby Club’s junior section who plays for Sale Sharks Academy, will be part of the side facing the south west, the midlands and London and the south east in a divisional under 16s festival in Northamptonshire this weekend.
This will be followed by the Wellington Festival at the start of April, where all four regions will compete against sides from Italy, France, Scotland and Wales.
The centre from Appleton hopes to be selected for the combined England under 16s squad in April to play Italy and Wales.
