WARRINGTON Cricket Club’s first XI will feature a new Australian fast bowler in 2015.

Melbourne-based Nathan Green has been signed from the Victoria Premier League.

He will be flying over as replacement for fellow Aussie paceman Kyle Adams and will have big shoes to fill.

Adams collected 256 wickets over three seasons after first arriving at Walton Lea Road in 212.

The return featured a record 93 haul in 2013, 76 last year and 87 in his maiden campaign.

Green will not be the only new addition in 2015.

Skipper Richard Heaney says Adam Green, a left-hand batsman from Toft, will also be playing at Walton Lea next season.

Green scored 650 runs for Toft in second XI league cricket in 2013.

Meanwhile, both Warrington and Grappenhall will be among the 34 clubs competing in Cheshire County League’s re-jigged RedInsure T20 next season.

A ninth regional group has been added to accommodate two extra entrants, while all groups have been slightly reshuffled for the Thursday night games.

Warrington are in Group Six with Alderley Edge (away, May 14) and Urmston (home, May 28).

Grappers are in Group Seven with Northwich (away, June 4), Oulton Park (home, June 18) and Weaverham (home, May 21).

At the end of the group phase, which runs from Thursday, May 14 to Thursday, June 18, there will be a play-off between the winners of groups 8 and 9 for a place in the quarter finals.

The top nine clubs in the final 2014 ECB Premier League table have been seeded to avoid clashes in the group stages.

Finals day is scheduled for Sunday, July 26 at Upton.

The draw has also been made for the second XI T20, with Warrington and Grappenhall again featuring among 33 entrants.

Warrington will host Alvanley in the first round, while Grappenhall will entertain Irby, with ties to be played by Monday, May 11.
