TWO avid FA Cup fans who travelled over 1500 miles to witness Warrington Town's memorable run in the competition insist they will never forget the memories created by Shaun Reid's side.

David Hall and Carl Paterson made a pact to follow every round of the competition, by showing their support for the winner of each round.

After beginning the journey at Sheffield FC, the pair were soon led to follow Town after the club dumped out the South Yorkshire outfit in the second qualifying round replay in September.

David, of Nottingham, and Carl, of Sheffield, have since witnessed the side make history and have notched up the impressive mileage after travelling to all of the team's matches, including replays.

"The whole idea was to follow every round of the FA Cup because it is such a great competition," said 25-year-old David.

"I am so glad that we got the chance to watch Warrington, after they beat Sheffield, and the club have just been phenomenal - I will definitely be going back watch them play the odd game.

"The club deserve the plaudits and success due to how well the club is run and I would like to wish them all the best for the future."

Within just a matter of matches, both fans developed an impressive relationship with Town supporters and assistant manager David Powell, in particular.

Although attention now shifts to the country's top-tier sides, who will now enter the competition, it is clear to see the memories will never be forgotten.

"This is what the FA Cup is about, I have always followed the game at a lower level, I really enjoy it," said David.

"You can also get closer to the action when watching teams at this level which is great."

The pair will now watch Gateshead square up in the third round but David admits it will be difficult to experience anything similar to watching the Yellows.

"While being gutted not to see them in the third round, they have achieved so much and I would like to wish them all the best," added David.

"With regards to the rest of the FA Cup, we will see who we get in the future rounds but it won't ever be the same again."
