SHAUN Reid returns to the touchline for Warrington Town’s clash with Ossett Albion today, Saturday, after serving a four-match ban.

The Yellows manager said there has been a positive outcome to his time spent in the stands as a result of ‘speaking out of turn’ at the referee when visiting Colwyn Bay in the FA Cup.

“Sometimes you learn a lot more when you take a step back. I’ve noticed things that we need to put right, so it has opened my eyes,” he said.

And although his staff were able to handle matters while he was sat in the stands for the draw at Salford, the two wins against Radcliffe Borough and the loss at Kendal, it will make life easier for him now that his ban is over.

"It's been a difficult four games I can assure you. It's not easy with a touchline ban," he said.

"We did a lot of work by phone while getting messages to people to take out for me."

Reid said he will learn all round from the experience.

"Sometimes in football things go against you and referees perceive things in a certain light.

"From my own personal point of view, I've got to learn that referees will make bad decisions and I've got to accept them. You're not going to change their minds.

"It was a difficult one because it occurred in the FA Cup game away to Colwyn Bay when it was nip and tuck.

"I'll learn from it and it won't happen again hopefully.

"It doesn't help the team when the manager’s not at the dug-out. So I can't afford to be banned anymore and that's something I'm addressing.

"I spoke out of turn, I regret it and it won’t happen again.”
