Warrington 4 Ormskirk 3

A LAST-GASP winner from captain Tom Yates secured a 4-3 victory for Warrington in North West Men’s League Division Four North on Saturday.

Ben Vickers put Warrington into the lead before Ormskirk equalised to set the tone for an end-to-end game.

Mike Jones put away a penalty stroke and then made a great diving finish from a Steve Worrall pass either side of two more goals from Ormskirk to keep the game on a knife-edge before the decisive contribution from Yates.

Warrington, who now sit third in the league, will host fourth-placed Urmston seconds on Saturday.

Warrington 3 Deeside 0

SALLY Froggatt led the way with a player-of-the-match performance as Warrington beat Deeside 3-0 at home in Cheshire Women’s League Division Two.

Steph Rawlins put Warrington ahead when she slotted home a great pass from Louise Sullivan.

Froggatt extended the lead by finishing off a short corner routine and Rawlins made the game safe with another confident finish.

Warrington will bid for another win when they visit Macclesfield on Saturday.

The women’s second team are two points off the top of Division Five after drawing 2-2 at Alderley Edge sixths. They host Macclesfield fourths on Saturday.

Lymm 4 Stockport Bramhall 0

LYMM overcame solid defence from bottom side Stockport to enhance their position as leaders of North Women’s League Division Two South West.

Lisa Hartley-Woodrow jinked past several challenges before finding the bottom corner.

A deserved second arrived when Meg Wilkin found a touch off Hartley-Woodrow’s strike to deflect the ball into the net from a penalty corner.

The pair combined again in the second half, with Wilkin receiving the ball and slotting past the keeper on the turn.

To round off the win, midfield ace Ash Jackson shot early from the top of the D.
