DESPITE their best performance of the season, Cheshire Wire Green succumbed to Panthers in the under 13s National Basketball League on Saturday.
They were competitive, and regularly troubled taller opponents, but were unable to convert that pressure into a regular flow of points.
By half time they trailed 52-24.
The second quarter was as competitive as the first, but it was their opponents’ height and ability to control any loose balls under the basket that ultimately led to another defeat for Wire Green.
