Colwyn Bay 1 Warrington Town 1

CHRIS Gahgan's last-gasp equaliser kept Warrington Town's FA Cup dream alive at Conference North outfit Colwyn Bay on Saturday.

Warrington had been trailing to a controversial second half penalty when substitute Gahgan struck in the fourth minute of added time to earn at replay at the Winners Recruitment Stadium on Tuesday.

It ensures Warrington's name will be in the hat for the fourth qualifying round draw on Monday.

It looked as though Warrington were heading for a disappointing exit until Gahgan struck as he was then mobbed and buried under his team mates and coaching staff.

Just seconds earlier the home side had wasted a golden opportunity to put the tie to bed but missed a near open goal.

Town went straight upfield and scored to the delight of the travelling fans.

Missing several first team regulars through injury and suspension, including leading scorer Scott Metcalfe, Warrington had few chances, with former shot stopper Josh Ollerenshaw having little to do between the Colwyn Bay sticks.

Karl Wills in the Town goals was kept the busier, pulling off a couple of crucial saves, including one point blank effort.

Colwyn Bay eventually took the lead in the70th minute from a penalty when Conor Roberts was ruled to have committed a foul in the box as he swung to clear a ball.

Keeper Wills was unlucky as he got a hand to the spot kick from Obi Anoruo only to see it go in off the post.

With the clock ticking down Ash Ruane and Gahgan were thrown into the action and it was Gahgan who fired home the equaliser with almost the last kick of the game.

Team: Wills, Davies, Field, Mannix, McCarten, Robinson, Corrigan (Ruane) Burke (Booth), Wharton, Foster (Gahgan) Roberts. Subs not used Hardwick, West.
