Wilmslow 3rds 48 Moore 2nds 13
A DEPLETED Moore side were unable to get the better of Wilmslow despite a strong second-hal performance.
Moore started with only 14 players and one of the youngest sides to represent the club so were facing an uphill task.
The loss of Ben Craven with a head injury after only 10 minutes the two-man advantage made it more difficult.
By the break the home side had a 31-3 lead but a stirring team talk by Matt Griffiths together with impressive performances from Jack Harvey, Ian McLarney and others including great efforts from those playing for the first time J.Wilbraham and R Conroy, who only touched a rugby ball for the first time last week, saw a much better Moore in the second half.
Tries from Jack Harvey and Danny Pidgeon kept the score for the half at a creditable 17-10.
With several players due to return from injury and the enthusiasm of the young players there are grounds for optimism here.
