DREAM Team picks Chris Hill and Daryl Clark will hope this is not the last time they are pictured together with the Super League trophy.

The pair were named in the 2014 Super League Dream Team on Monday and highly-touted hooker Clark will join Hill as a Warrington Wolves player next season.

Clark is concentrated on finishing the season with current employers Castleford Tigers, but is backing his future teammate as a Man of Steel contender.

“I’m delighted to be involved in the Dream Team along with some of the best players from the comp all year,” said the 21-year-old.

“It would be pretty special to play with this side and hopefully I’ll get a chance to line up alongside some of them on the England tour.

“He (Hill) has been outstanding this year and is probably a candidate for Man of Steel, so I’ll be looking forward to working with him.

“I’ve obviously got to get this season out of the way first and concentrate on playing for Cas. Next year I’m looking forward to something different and playing with some new players.”

Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith was in no doubt Hill, the club’s player of the year, thoroughly deserved his Dream Team spot.

“He’s been absolutely outstanding this year in terms of consistency and he’s been a real stand out play - er along with Daryl Clark,” said Smith.

“The two of them have been enormous in terms of performing on a weekly basis. Whatever accolade Chris gets personally I’m sure is well deserved.”

The powerful prop took time to share a joke with future Wolves companion Clark, but is now fo - cused on helping his side make a winning start to the play-offs against Widnes Vikings.

“We had a few jokes and a bit of banter about it, we had a few pictures together and he’ll be over at our place next year,” said Hill.

“It’s a great achievement for me on a personal level, it’s brilliant, but this year’s not finished and there’s a lot of action to come in the play- offs yet.

“We want to kick on now with the rest of the season, not just me but the rest of the team.”

Despite missing out on a top-four finish, Hill is confident this Wolves side can go from fifth to claim Grand Final success.

“We wanted to finish fourth – actually we wanted to finish second – but it wasn’t to be after the draw with Huddersfield and the loss to Wigan,” he added.

“We know we’re good enough to go from fifth and win, so we’ll take every game as it comes and that’s Widnes this Saturday afternoon.

“They’re a really good team on their day. The likes of Kev (Brown) who’s in the Dream Team make them tick.”

Hill expects The Halliwell Jones Stadium crowd to be in full voice on Saturday and believes the derby at - mosphere will help inspire the boys in primrose and blue.

“It’s a big derby for the fans so we’ll have to be on our A game to beat them,” said the 26-year-old.

“We’d have taken anywhere we had to go but we’re at home to play Widnes.

“It’s a massive derby, it has been for many years, we’ll see that when the crowds turn out again on Saturday and the boys will be ready.

“The three tough games we had, Wigan, Saints and Huddersfield, have helped us. They’re all like play-offs game intensity anyway so that’ll stand us in good stead.”
