The home side started well, reducing Alderley to 43 for 5 with Josh McClelland, 3 for 64, and Sam Guest, 2 for 42, doing the damage.
Alderley then formed a partnership of 115 before they eventually reached 224 for 7 with Gaz Burns, 2 for 73, taking the last two wickets.
In reply, Adam Roylance and Richard Green opened and made a bright start before Roylance went for 16.
Jimmy McCoy joined Green and the pair put on 90 for the second wicket before McCoy fell for 52.
Grappenhall lost a couple of wickets including that of Green, who produced his best knock of the season with 81.
Grappenhall eventually settled for the draw as a heavy shower brought proceedings to an end with unbeaten McClelland, 27, steering them to safety on 195 for 5.
