Hindley 45 Woolston Rovers 26

WOOLSTON Rovers' play-off hopes were brought to an abrupt end on Saturday when they were defeated 45-26 at Hindley in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three.

Sixteen-year-old debutant Sam Vernon put in a man-of-the-match performance, scoring a try in each half, but despite some good attacking play in the Rovers line-up, Hindley still proved to be too much for the away side's defence to handle.

James Rosson, Tom Keevil, and Wez Lawton also went over for Woolston.

Rovers: Lewis Stockton; Craig Davies, Tom Keevil, James Rosson, Sam Vernon; Will Chadwick, Ethan Jude; Matt Clarke, Josh Sudlow, Wez Lawton, Chris Brown, Sean Conway, Scott Whiteley. Subs: Phil Stevens, Bobby McGregor, Mike Lagar, John Welch.
