WARRINGTON Wolves had issues leading into the Huddersfield Giants match last night.
Head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith revealed illnesses and injuries hit the camp in the week’s build-up.
He said: “We had a whole heap of people with flu this week.
“Some had been told to go away from training, not be around the place. Stefan Ratchford was going to be playing and pulled an injury late in the week.
“Simon Grix was under a cloud late in the week.
“These aren’t excuses, these are the things that happen behind the scenes.
“They are little disruptive things behind the scenes that can sometimes have an affect on your performance.
“We try to eliminate most of those and we go out there to perform to our best each week, but there are some things that can make you a little bit off your best.
“Hopefully we can home in a little bit better next week and improve again.”
