EXCITING young hooker Daryl Clark will be a Warrington Wolves player for the 2015 season.

The 21-year-old has agreed a move from Challenge Cup finalists Castleford Tigers and has penned a four-year deal at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

And the Super League hotshot is confident teaming up with Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith is the right move for him.

“He’s a great coach, he’s been in the game a long time and I’m just looking forward to the move and to working under some different people,” said Clark.

“They’ve got a lot of history of winning trophies and they’ve always been there or thereabouts, so obviously they’re a massive club.

“I’ve been involved with Cas since I was about 13 and it’s my home-town club, but I’m confident I’ve made the right decision.”

Smith has long been a keen admirer of Clark and is excited to see him in primrose and blue from next season.

“I think everybody in the game’s been aware of Daryl for a while,” said Smith. “He’s an exciting young player. He’s still young but he’s doing it at the top level.

“He has that awareness and some great instincts of the game. There are still areas we can help him with and improve on, but he’s doing a fair job with what he’s got.

“He’s exciting to watch, I enjoy watching him and he brings a lot of pleasure to a lot of people that watch him. He’s a terrific young player that we’re really excited about.”

Clark is likely to work closely with hooker Micky Higham and the 33-year-old is another that is looking forward to the Man of Steel contender’s arrival.

“I can’t wait to start working with him,” added Higham. “It should be exciting and will hopefully help give us that step up to improve again.

“He’ll really develop us as a team and help us go forward. I can’t wait for him to get cracking with us.”
