WARRINGTON enjoyed victory by 116 runs after bowling Upton out for 70 in the Cheshire County Division Two on Saturday.

On losing the toss, Warrington were invited to bat a solid opening partnership of 64 between Chris Kirby, 40, and Will Fleetwood, 39.

With other batsmen sharing the runs, Richard Heaney, 31, Tom Clutterbuck, 20, it enabled Warrington to close their innings on 186-7.

Upton were never in contention as the opening attack of Kyle Adams, 7 for 33, and Ashley Scholes, 3 for 22, skittled the visitors for 70.

Simon Swain, 74, anchored Warrington seconds’ innings against Middlewich to seal his side a draw.

With all other batsmen reaching double figures and good scores from Brendn Morris, 24, and Mally Agar, 19, Warington posted 186 for 7.

Leg-spinner Agar then took 4 for 26 in reply, with Howard Morris, 1 for 37, and Nick Houghton, 1 for 37, also contributing as Middlewich held on for 152 for 6.

Warrington thirds won by six wickets at Cheadle Hulme after a superb spell of 4 for 37 from Mans Naseem. Alan Hitchmough’s 2 for 54 helped close the hosts on 174-9.

Dom Hastings, 18, and Naseem, 31, set the stage for James Lewis’ unbeaten 51 and Hitchmough, 40, in a well-deserved six-wicket win.

Unbeaten Joel Chadderton, 110, and James Lewis, 90, helped Warrington fifths to a 136 runs win against Sandbach.

Two wickets each for Chaderton, Mike Cornelia and Matt Jackson and one apiece for Darren Abram, Isaac Webster and Gary Musker skittled the hosts.
