Rylands 1 Whaley Bridge 1

RYLANDS came from behind to draw with Whaley Bridge thanks to a Kris Bell goal in their first home game of the new Cheshire League Premier Division campaign on Saturday.

Rylands were on top throughout the first half and paid the price for not finishing off their chances when Whaley Bridge took the lead five minutes before the break.

The home side started the second period in determined fashion and the visiting keeper made comfortable saves from efforts by Bell and Parr.

Rylands' improved performance was rewarded on 63 minutes when Bell opened his account for the season driving home from close range after Ryan Duffy had turned a Dean Jennings corner back across the goal.

As both teams pushed for the winner, Bell was denied by an excellent last ditch challenge and the game was tied at 1-1.
