Greenalls PSO 0 Crewe FC 2
GREENALLS were defeated in their opening game of the season by Crewe FC in Cheshire Football League Premier Division, as the team struggled to recover from going behind after just 15 seconds.
The home side were caught out with a neat through ball almost directly from kick-off and found themselves behind straight away.
Crewe doubled their lead 18 minutes later with a good passing move that highlighted Greenalls’ poor defence.
Greenalls grew into the game and had two huge chances after the break when McGloughlin and Dowsett both missed free headers from point blank range.
The Crewe captain was sent off after picking up a second yellow card for a late tackle with 15 minutes left to play, but Greenalls could not capitalise on the extra man and Crewe finished the game off comfortably to win 2-0.
