WITH a number of first team appearances under his belt Warrington Wolves winger Gene Ormsby is full of confidence ahead of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup semi final against Leeds Rhinos at Langtree Park on Saturday (2.30pm).

After a hard-fought victory against Catalan Dragons on Friday night in Perpignan and winning eight games out of their last 10, Ormsby believes the Wolves are the form team going into Saturday’s game.

“We had a good trip over in France and got the result we wanted,” said Ormsby. “We focus on each individual game as they come and try and make the most of these opportunities. We definitely do not get ahead of ourselves.

“I started in Rugby League late and joined the Wolves when I was 16 years old. My first Challenge Cup experience was watching team-mate Tyrone McCarthy make his Wembley debut in 2009. It was crazy seeing him out there in this huge stadium in front of thousands of fans.

“Being in the semi-final of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup means so much to me. I’m 80 minutes away from playing at one of the best stadiums in the world in my debut year for the Wolves.”

Warrington have already tasted victory against Leeds at The Halliwell Jones Stadium back in May, beating them 24-6, and Ormsby feels that Wolves are ready to take their chance on Saturday.

“Leeds are great side and you have to be ready physically and mentally to take them on,” he said. “We’re aware that they rested a few players at the weekend but we won’t be focussing on that. We’ll be concentrating on our own game and what we need to do to get the job done correctly.

“The fans were amazing over in France for the Catalan Dragons game. I’m sure plenty more will be buying tickets and make the short trip over to St Helens to make lots of noise and give us that advantage.”

Tickets for the Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves Tetley’s Challenge Cup semi-final tie at Langtree Park, St Helens, on Saturday August 9 (2.30pm) can be purchased from as little as £18 for adults and £9 for concessions and juniors. Ticket prices will increase by £2 per adult and £1 per concession on match day.

Tickets for the 2014 Tetley’s Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 23 cost from as little as £22 and can be purchased by calling the 24-hour Rugby League Ticket Hotline on 0844 856 1113 or by visiting www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk

Gene Ormsby has been performing very well with lots more to come with all the experience he will gain, but first he has to stay grounded and be selected to play, I like his confidence his form deserves selection, that would again put him up against a Moon/Hall combination.

I think he'll get dropped for Penny again when he's back fit. Ormsby has been playing well but isn't a big enough threat
