JESSE Lingard got his name on the scoresheet as Manchester United beat fierce rivals Liverpool in the International Champions Cup final in Miami last night.
The Longford-born midfielder replaced new United signing Ander Herrera with 12 minutes to go and rounded off the victory following goals from Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney after Steve Gerrard’s opener.
The Warrington-born 21-year-old will have been hoping to impress new boss Louis van Gaal on the club’s pre-season tour of the USA, where they also beat LA Galaxy, Inter Milan, Roma and Real Madrid.
