KEVIN Penny is closing in on a return to the Warrington Wolves side after making an appearance for Swinton Lions last weekend.
The winger was in good form before suffering a serious knee injury in the Super League defeat to Bradford Bulls on May 4.
Penny scored a try on his return to action in Swinton’s 30-48 defeat to Halifax in the Championship, but did not make Wolves' 19-man squad this week.
“He played for Swinton and played pretty well,” said Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith. “He had a solid game, was a little bit rusty but it’s all good news.”
