WARRINGTON’S Aisha Thornton has ranked 11th at the Commonwealth Games in the 800m freestyle.
The 22-year-old Loughborough University student took part in a 10th place swim-off this morning against New Zealand’s Emma Robinson in the pool at Tolcross Swimming Centre.
The pair finished joint fourth in heat two on Sunday, clocking 8mins 41.02secs, but after heat three missed out on the top eight spots for the final on Monday night.
Warriors of Warrington swimmer Thornton was edged out down the final length, meaning she finishes 11th, while Robinson becomes second reserve for tonight’s final.
