GOLBORNE CMC top Section A of the Knox and Son Friday League following a 293-122 win over a depleted Orford WM A team.

Danny Myers, 21-4, and Michael Grimes, 21-5, were the top winners.

King and Queen A had 12 winners in the 257-144 victory over Grange B, Larry Wells, 21-1, and Steve Jackson, 21-3, the top winners.

Wins from Dave Bennett, 21-0, and Michael Bishop, 21-7, helped Grange A record a 260-237 success at Crosfields A. Paul Heald replied with a 21-11 card.

Alford A won 257-247 at Tetley A, where John Green, 21-9, and Chris Ure, 21-11, were the best winners and John Gatley and Martin Deakin shared the home sweep with 21-8 cards.

Rylands B and Tetley C share top spot in Section D, Tetley C suffered an 8-7 home defeat to Monk Sports A. Barry Daniels the best winner 21-7, W Lawton replied, 21-0.

Rylands B scored a 10-5 win at Penketh Tavern, with John Smith, 21-2, and Jim Walker, 21-11, top winners. Roy Allan took the home sweep 21-9.

Tommy Donoghue and Stuart Gomersall shared the home sweep in St Albans’ narrow 8-6 home victory over Eagle B. John Cawley and Richard White shared the visitors’ sweep 21-16.

Culcheth B scored an 8-7 win at Grange D, Dave Haynes, 21-9, and John Lockett, 21-9, the best winners. Trevor Bond and Brian Mills replied with 21-9 cards.

Section E leaders Richmonds A lost 10-5 at home to Richmonds B, top wins coming from Stuart Holt, 21-6, and Bernard Creaghan, 21-8. Brian Ellis Jnr replied with a 21-7 card.

Wins from John Addis, 21-1, and Bob Wanbon, 21-9, helped Red Lion to a 9-6 success at Stag B, where Arthur Bebbington won 21-7.

Monk Sports B defeated Crosfields B 10-4, best winners were Paul Yates, 21-2, and George Sutton, 21-5. Gordon Moss replied with a 21-11 card.
