GRAPPENHALL rewarded Oxton with their first win of the season in the Cheshire County Cricket Premier League on Saturday, despite an outstanding bowling performance from Josh McClelland.
The home side got off to a good start keeping Oxton to 88 for 5, but Oxton managed to get to 223 before being bowled out in the 54th over, with McClelland finishing with 6 for 98.
Grappenhall struggled from the off with the bat, and found themselves in trouble at 13 for 3.
Ian Barnes, 86, restored some pride to the batting, getting to his stand-out score with seven sixes, but after his dismissal the tail was swept aside.
Grappenhall were bowled out for 187 in the 47th over and dropped to fourth in the league.
