A WOOLSTON handball player returned from international duty in Sweden on a high having made history with England.

Jemaine Knott was part of the England under 16s girls’ handball squad who made it to the quarter-final stage of the Partile Cup for the first time in English handball’s history.

“We played teams from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, keen handballing countries, it was unreal,” said Knott. “The squad never knew we could win any of the games; we gave 100% into every game hoping we made everyone at home proud.

“Getting into the quarter finals was amazing. Scoring a goal in the Partille tournament made the experience even better.”
