EAGLES beat Leigh Miners A in a dramatic encounter that needed a late drop goal to separate the sides.

First-half tries for Eagles came from Colin Mitchinson, Stu Pirrie, and Chris Pleavin, with Nathan Bell converting two to give the home side a 10-point lead at half time.

Miners came out stronger in the second half and despite a converted try for Bell, the away side levelled the scores.

With seconds on the clock Nathan dropped a goal to claim the win.
