WOOLSTON Rovers return to Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three action on Saturday when they entertain Heworth.

Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways having suffered three successive defeats that have seen them slip to sixth in the table.

“We are desperate to get the two points on Saturday to get us back on track,” said head coach Lee Westwood.

“We know that it is going to be a tough game, as Heworth have been playing really well of late.”

Rovers will be hoping to emulate their performance in the away fixture at the end of April which saw them beat Heworth 50-20.

“We produced probably our best performance of the season at Heworth and if we can come up with a similar display this weekend then we should be able to get the win,” Westwood added.

“We will be backing up from having had a tough physical battle with Rylands Sharks on Tuesday evening but I am confident that we will be able to overcome that and get the right result.”

Saturday also sees the celebration of the 20 year anniversary of winning the inaugural National Conference League title.

A turnout of past players, coaches, committee members and supporters who have been involved with the club since the formation in 1959 is expected to make an enjoyable afternoon.

Rovers A are also at home on Saturday against Blackbrook ‘A’ in the North West Men’s League Division Two.
