WARRINGTON water polo’s under 14s team won the Liverpool and District Championship at the weekend.

The Warrington team faced Bridgefield in the final and played exceptionally well, being determined in the defence and fast on the counter attack.

Bridgefield were restricted to two goals as Warrington won the game 7-2.

Connor Lynch and Molly Boniface-Ashton were Warrington's top scorers with two goals each.

In the under 16s category Warrington finished second after a 12-2 victory over Chester put the side in the final to face Bridgefield.

The under 16s were defeated 8-2 by Bridgefield despite an outstanding performance by Warrington’s 13-year-old goalkeeper, Luke Atkinson
