LEE Briers praised his ‘special’ under 19s side after they disposed of their Bradford Bulls counterparts to increase their winning run to 10 games.

Toby King went in for four tries, with Ben Stansfield, Declan Kay and Harvey Livett adding two apiece and Jack Johnson making it 62-24 to Wolves.

And Briers admitted he and fellow coach Danny Fullerton are enjoying watching their table-topping young charges.

“Each week the players are coming up with something very special and that is great for us as coaches to witness,” said Briers.

“They are all so willing to learn and the improvement is clear to see when they are on the field. We have seen George King become the latest to step up from the under 19s and make his full debut in the first team.

“There are others who are knocking on the door for their chance. At one stage we had six players on the field who were in their first year playing at this age group and each one of them has contributed to another excellent win.”

Fullerton added: “We are absolutely delighted with the performance. Once again we have shown the quality within the squad is really high. Some of our play, especially in the first half, was as good as you could wish to see.”

The under 19s face Hull FC on Saturday, Briers added: “If we perform like we have been doing then we will give ourselves a great chance of continuing our winning run.”
