JON Gibbons claimed a five-wicket haul as Glazebury handed Division One leaders Wilmslow their first defeat of the season at Hurst Lane on Saturday.
Dave Acton, 88, laid the foundation with a brilliant innings that included nine fours and four sixes, helping Glazebury reach a total of 214 for 8.
Wilmslow showed a lot of intent to chase the runs and maintain their unbeaten record, but Jon Gibbons’ five wickets, backed by four from Sam Stanier dismissed the visitors for 178 to give the hosts victory by 36 runs.
Glazebury seconds earned a draw at Wilmslow, whose team were also top of their division.
Wilmslow made 221 for 6 before the visitors held strong to finish on 186 for 9.
