WOOLSTON suffered a local derby defeat at the hands of Crosfields in the National Conference League Division Three last Thursday at Hood Lane Recreation Ground.

Two tries for each side in the first half hour set the tone for a nip and tuck game, with Troy Brophy and Hayden James scoring for Crosfields and Chris Mellor and Tom Keevil for Rovers.

With the scores level, Crosfields scored two late first-half tries through Nathan Hamilton and Ben Mellor to give them a 22-10 advantage at the break.

Sean Conway and Christian Taylor both went over for Rovers early in the second half to bring them back into the game before Crosfields kicked on and claimed the victory.
