WOOLSTON Rovers will entertain neighbours Rylands in the Warrington Carlsberg Cup semi-final on Tuesday with the winners facing either Crosfields or Bank Quay Bulls in the final.

Rovers will be looking to bounce back from two successive National Conference League defeats by keeping their hopes of retaining the Warrington Cup alive.

“We haven’t had the best of results lately but that will all be forgotten when we come to play the local derby,” said head coach Lee Westwood.

“Form counts for nothing in these type of games and we will be preparing really well for what we know will be a very tough encounter.

“Rylands have had some impressive results of late in their league games so will come into the game full of confidence but we will make sure that we are ready for them and hopefully we will be able to come out on top and reach the final. “ Rovers A entertain Accrington Panthers in the North West Men’s League Division Two on Saturday, before making the short trip to Culceth Eagles on Wednesday for their Warrington Carlsberg Alliance Cup Semi-Final.

“We will be concentrating in training this week on the Accrington game as we are desperate to get back to winning ways in the league,” said Rovers A head coach Mark Robinson.

“Once the Accrington game is out of the way we can then prepare for the cup game at Culcheth which promises to be a good encounter.”
