WARRINGTON seconds beat Congleton by six wickets after the away side posted a huge score of 225 for 9.

Rob Batey, 4 for 35, and Charlie McElroy, 3 for 35, were the pick of the Warrington bowling attack but despite their efforts, Congleton were confident they had reached a winning score.

With the loss of a wicket in the first over, Simon Swain, 54, and Will Fleetwood, 50, added 111 for the second wicket to allow a run chase at seven an over for Mal Agar, 57 not out, and Isaac Webster, 35 not out, to win the game with an over to spare.

Warrington thirds beat Oxton fourths with the Merseyside team falling short with 117 all out in reply to Warrington’s 154 all out.

Warrington fourths were well beaten by Haslington thirds after the visitors declared in the 43rd over on 186 for 5 and were bowled out for 58 in reply.
