Woolston Rovers 6 Blackbrook 26
WOOLSTON were beaten by Blackbrook in the Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Three on Thursday.
Rovers never looked out of the game despite going in at the break 10-0 down having conceded a try from ex-Rovers second row Scott Davidson.
A mistake just after the break from Rovers led to a Blackbrook scrum which they took advantage of with a try in the left corner.
Just after the hour, Rovers gave themselves hope and put their first points on the board through Wez Laughton.
Gavin Bishop converted to make the score 18-6 and it looked as though they had gone over again soon afterwards when Chris Mellor touched down but the referee said that he had been held up.
Blackbrook got two late tries to stop any comeback for Rovers.
Rovers: Steve Arnold; James Rosson, Tom Keevil, Ryan Price-Jones, Christian Taylor; Gavin Bishop, Jason Rutter; Bobby McGregor, Will Chadwick, Wez Lawton, Chris Brown, Sean Conway, Chris Mellor. Subs: Darren Hill, Dave Kelly, John Welch, Matt Robinson.
