RYLANDS suffered defeat by six wickets in their Cheshire Cricket Alliance Division Two game away at Maritime.
Batting first, Rylands posted 123 for their 10 wickets, Ian Mason's steady 35 the highlight of the innings.
Defending such a small total was always going to be difficult against the Maritime big hitters and despite Sujith's??? excellent spell of 2 for 19 and Adam Peters’ 2 for 38, the home side reached their target with overs to spare.
Rylands seconds were hosts to local rivals Glazebury in a match that ended in a draw at Gorsey Lane.
Batting first, Rylands made 158 with a maiden half century for Jordan Carroll, who posted 53.
Rylands then made steady progress with the ball but witnessed the Glazebury batsmen ride their share of the luck.
Joe Threadgold was the chief tormentor, taking 5 for 49.
