A WARRINGTON Athletics Club record fell for the first time in 39 years at the Trafford Grand Prix.

In the 800m series, under 17s Harriet Knowles-Jones finished third in her race in 2mins9.40secs which removed the club record set by Sue Parker 39 years ago and the under 20s record set by Julie Hicken 33 years ago.

In the gold standard 800m races Sam Dykes improved his best time to 1min 51.47secs as he finished in sixth place in race A.

The under 15s 1500m saw Jack Stubbings, 4mins 23.01secs, Sam Rostron, 4mins 29.10secs, and Daniel Fox, 4mins 40.14secs all post personal best times.

Under Robert Dykes finished sixth in his race in 1min 59.85secs and Chris Fance finished fifth in 2mins 0.50secs in his race with Robert and Chris setting new best times.

In their race Sarah McGrail won in a new best time of 2mins 19.92secs.

At 1500m Owen Lee set a new best time in his race of 4mins 24.33secs as he finished in eighth place.

Under 17s Daniel Evans finished eighth in his race recording 1min 59.84secs while Robert Dykes finished sixth in his race in 1min 59.85secs and Chris Fance finished fifth in 2mins 0.50secs in his race with Robert and Chris setting new best times.

In their race Sarah McGrail won in a new best time of 2mins 19.92secs with Kiera Grady seventh in 2mins 33.59secs.

At 1500m Liam Burthem finished second in his race in 4mins 4.46secs while Owen Lee set a new best time in his race of 4mins 24.33secs as he finished in eighth place.

Victoria Ramsbottom set a new best time over 3000m of 10mins 44.45secs finishing in 21st place.
