WARRINGTON Athletics Club recorded 11 wins and six personal best times in the second round of the Northern League Division Four West at Cleavley Athletic Track in Eccles on Saturday.

In the women’s events Carys McAuley won the A 400m in 57.5secs and took second place in the A 200m in a personal best time of 26.6secs, with Lizzie Smith winning the 400m B event in a personal best of 60.9secs.

Ellie Baker won the A high jump with a new best height of 1.42m and finished second in the A long jump with another best performance of 4.79m, while Kiera Grady finished in third place in the A 800m with a new best time of 2mins 30secs and Elise Bate won the B race in 2mins 48.2secs.

Heather Beeton competed in five events among which were second place finishes in the A hammer throw and the B long jump.

In the men’s events James Webster on a visit back from Bath University comfortably won the A 400m hurdles in 54.9secs.

Jack Gleave won the A events 400m in 52.6secs and 800m in 1min 59secs and came third in the 200m in a personal best time of 23.8secs, while Matt Wigelsworth won all three in the B events with 24.3secs in the 200m, 52.1secs in the 400m and 1min 58.8secs in the 800m.

In the 1500m Chris Fance won by a long stretch in a new best time of 4mins 19.7secs.
