RYLANDS’ early season struggles were put behind them with an unbeaten weekend.

After an early onslaught from Mark Green, 3 for 29, on Saturday, Rylands were disappointed to allow Offerton to 223 for 4.

In reply it was Green with the bat who saw off the Offerton attack, his unbeaten 24 ensuring the draw and Rylands’ highest points total so far.

The second team faced rivals Appleton, skittling the visitors for 62 and achieving their target for the loss of five wickets to claim their first win of the year.

On Sunday, Rylands saw off rivals Glazebury in the 20/20 Cup.

They looked in trouble at 27 for 3 after five overs, but Richard Buck struck a majestic unbeaten 72 off 49 balls, complemented by Graeme Rowlands’ 36, to post 143.

Buck took 3 for 18, Alan Brady 3 for 10 and Sujith 3 for 19 to dismiss Glazebury for 116.
