STRETTON suffered their first defeat of the season in the top of the table clash with Wilmslow, despite a five wicket haul from Ali Zubairi.

Zubairi led the bowling attack claiming five wickets for 49 runs, backed up by Junaid Mir and Hasif Usman, who got two wickets each.

Dropped catches helped Wilmslow to post a total of 184 all out in 45 overs.

The Stretton batsman struggled in reply with no partnerships forming, and they were bowled out for 139.

The seconds also lost at Knutsford after a poor start allowed the home side to race to 112 for 1, before schoolboy Josh Hayes claimed three wickets and paved the way for Graham Stone to clear up the tail with four and bowl Knutsford out for 147.

Richard Taylor got Stretton off to a good start with 25 runs but the away side were bowled out for just 85.
