WARRINGTON Wolves' Ben Westwood has been banned for three matches.

An independent tribunal found Wolves' experienced joint skipper guilty of a Grade D dangerous throw on Wakefield Trinity Wildcats prop Scott Anderson on Sunday.

Westwood has a right to appeal, with the sanction set to see him miss the visit by league leaders Leeds Rhinos on Friday, the following weekend's Challenge Cup quarter-final tie at Bradford Bulls and the Super League trip to Hull KR on June 13.

It goes to show how good the referee was in this match he didn't even give a penalty for the tackle!
The inconsistency in refereeing decisions in matches needs to be sorted out.
