Wakefield Trinity Wildcats u19s 4 Warrington Wolves u19s 31

WARRINGTON Wolves continued their excellent form with a convincing victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Saturday.

The young Wolves defied the elements to produce a very high completion rate that ultimately paved the way for them to gain a very impressive win that keeps them level on points with Leeds Rhinos at the top of the table with a game in hand.

Wakefield opened the scoring in the 10th minute when a handling error by Wolves on the last tackle allowed loose forward Jordan Crowther to intercept the ball and race 40 metres to score wide out on the right.

Six minutes later a kick by scrum half Declan Patton was brilliantly collected by centre Harvey Livett, who raced 50 metres handing of several defenders on a weaving run before being held up over the line.

A quick play the ball saw quick hands send it out to centre Jake Eccleston who found winger Declan Kay and he slid over in the left corner.

Two great drives from the kick off put the Wolves on the front foot and on the third play the ball loose forward Sean Kenny went from dummy half and raced 50 metres, dummying the Trinity full back before scoring between the posts.

Livett converted and then a superb 60 metre break from the restart by full back Ben Stansfield put his side into the Wildcats half and a quick play the ball saw second row James Jones race 30 metres to score on the left.

Livett landed the conversion to give the Wolves a 16-4 half time advantage.

Eight minutes into the second half great hands along the line by the Wolves saw the ball swept through several pairs of hands before Livett found winger Brad Goulding, who handed off two defenders superbly to squeeze over in the right corner.

Livett converted and then from the restart a fine 40 metre break by Kay split the Wildcats defence and, after Stansfield had been held just short, Eccleston went from dummy half down the blind side to score in the left corner.

Livett landed another touchline conversion to make the score 28-4.

Thirteen minutes from time lovely hands along the line saw Kay link into the line and his long ball cut out two defenders and found Goulding who stepped round his opposite number to score wide on the right and give the Wolves a thoroughly deserved 32-4 success.
